More Than a House: Capturing a Moment in Time

Twenty-five years ago, I opened the doors to Colorado Real Estate Company with a simple goal—to help people find their PLACE in the mountains. What I didn't realize at the time was that we weren't simply helping people buy and sell real estate. We were helping them create memories.

Over the years, I've been invited into some of life's biggest moments. First homes. Growing families. Retirement dreams. Vacation homes where grandchildren learned to ski. Cabins that became gathering places for Thanksgiving dinners and summer adventures. While we may sell properties, what we're really selling are the moments that happen inside them.

I often joke that I don't remember every square foot or floor plan I've sold over the last 25 years, but I do remember the people. I remember the excitement of getting the call that an offer was accepted. The tears when a family closed on a home they never thought they could afford. The stories clients share years later about teaching their children to fish on the Blue River or watching their grandchildren open presents in front of a mountain fireplace.

That's what makes Summit County so special. We don't simply live in the mountains—we experience them together. The memories we create here have a way of becoming part of who we are.

That's why this year's Client Appreciation Event means so much to me. On Friday, August 7, we're celebrating 25 years of Colorado Real Estate Company, but more importantly, we're celebrating the people who made those 25 years possible—you.

We've partnered with a professional photographer to offer complimentary 15-minute family portrait sessions along the beautiful Blue River behind our office in Silverthorne. My hope isn't simply that you'll walk away with a beautiful photograph. My hope is that you'll capture a moment in time.

Life moves quickly. Children grow up. Families change. Parents become grandparents. Before we know it, the moments we thought we'd always remember become the ones we're most grateful we preserved.

Twenty years from now, I don't think you'll remember what you were wearing that day or whether your kids sat perfectly still for the picture. You'll remember who was standing beside you. You'll remember that everyone was together.

Sometimes the most valuable things we own aren't things at all—they're the memories we've been fortunate enough to make.

Thank you for allowing me, and our entire team, to be a small part of your family's story over the past 25 years. It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

We hope you'll join us on August 7 to celebrate where we've been, the memories we've created, and the many more still to come. The event is come and go from 2:00 to 6:00. RSVP by July 24th if you would like to schedule a portrait session. There will be food and giveaways. You will have time to connect with our team and celebrate. Silverthorne's First Friday Block Party is directly across the street from 4:30 to 8:30 which is a good time to spend the evening making memories in Silverthorne.

We can't wait to see you there.
