Celebrate America's 250th Birthday in Summit County

This Fourth of July is unlike any other.  As our nation celebrates America's 250th birthday, communities across the country will gather to honor our history, celebrate our freedoms, and look forward to the future. Here in Summit County, we'll also be celebrating Colorado's 250th anniversary, making this year's Independence Day festivities even more special. Whether you're a full-time resident, a second homeowner, or visiting for the holiday weekend, Summit County offers an incredible lineup of events that capture the spirit of mountain living.

A Fourth of July to Remember

Breckenridge: Tradition Meets Innovation

Breckenridge's Independence Day celebration remains one of Colorado's premier mountain-town events. The day begins with the Independence Day 10K, followed by the beloved Main Street Parade, the iconic Firecracker 50 mountain bike race, a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, and family-friendly activities throughout town. Visitors can enjoy art exhibits, live music, chalk art competitions, and performances throughout the Arts District. (visitbreck.com)

One of the most exciting additions to this year's celebration is the "Stories in the Sky" Drone Show, part of the statewide America250 and Colorado150 commemorations. Beginning at 9:00 PM, the sky above Breckenridge will come alive with illuminated storytelling celebrating our nation's and state's history. (America250)

Frisco's Fabulous Fourth

If you love small-town America, Frisco delivers one of Summit County's most cherished Independence Day traditions. The day starts with a free Kids' Fishing Derby and Team Summit Pancake Breakfast before the annual Main Street Parade steps off at 1:00 PM. The celebration continues with free live music featuring the Frisco Funk Collective and The Motet. (townoffrisco.com)

Frisco's Fourth has always felt like a Norman Rockwell painting come to life, complete with mountain views, community spirit, and plenty of opportunities to gather with friends and neighbors.

Silverthorne Celebrates America250

Silverthorne's Rainbow Park will host a special America250 celebration featuring a free outdoor performance by the National Repertory Orchestra. Families can enjoy patriotic music, Broadway favorites, and an Instrument Petting Zoo where children can explore different musical instruments. It's a fantastic way to introduce younger generations to both music and history. (Silverthorne)

Why We Love Living Here

While the parades, concerts, races, and celebrations are certainly fun, the Fourth of July always reminds me why so many people choose to call Summit County home.

It's not just the skiing, hiking, biking, or mountain views.

It's the sense of community.

It's watching neighbors gather on Main Street. It's seeing multiple generations celebrating together. It's creating traditions that children will remember for decades. It's the simple joy of spending time with the people who matter most in one of the most beautiful places in America.

For many homeowners, owning property in Summit County is about much more than market appreciation. It's about creating a place where memories are made.

Let's Talk About Your Real Estate Goals

As we celebrate America's 250th birthday, it's also a great time to think about your own future plans. Are you considering buying a mountain home? Thinking about selling in the next year or two? Wondering whether now is the right time to make a move? Curious about the current Summit County market and what opportunities may exist?

The second half of the year can present unique opportunities for both buyers and sellers. Having a plan—and understanding your options—can make all the difference.

If real estate is part of your future, I'd welcome the opportunity to sit down over coffee and discuss your goals. Whether you're planning a move next month or several years from now, a conversation today can help you make better decisions tomorrow.

Until then, enjoy the celebrations, spend time with family and friends, and join us in wishing America a happy 250th birthday.

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Colorado Real Estate Company!
